Heralded as the new darlings of American post-rock, Hiroe (pronounced hero-way) emerged from the Philadelphia underground during the 2020 pandemic as a seismic force in the post-rock community—aptly described by Fuzzrocious Pedals as "an instrumental band with teeth."

Delivering a compelling convergence of soaring harmonies and visceral, heavy-gaze riffs, Hiroe occupies the space between post-rock and post-metal, drawing influence from artists like Radiohead, Deftones, Mogwai, Interpol, and Isis. For principal songwriter Eric Kusanagi, Hiroe marks a return to music after a decade-long absence, following a history of supporting heavyweights including Caspian, Sparta, Spotlights, Shiner, Rosetta, Autolux, and The Appleseed Cast.

In 2022, Hiroe joined the prestigious Pelagic Records roster, home to genre-defining acts like Mono and The Ocean Collective. Their crushing debut, Wrought, was met with immediate critical acclaim, boasting a production pedigree that includes Mario Quintero (Spotlights, Shiner, Pallbearer), Matt Bayles (Isis, Russian Circles, Mono), and Will Yip (Caspian, Circa Survive). This momentum culminated in a milestone invitation to perform at Post Fest 2024—North America’s premier post-rock festival—solidifying Hiroe’s place as a rising force in the international scene.

On April 8th, Hiroe announced their highly anticipated follow-up, Wield. Once again produced and mixed by longtime collaborator Mario Quintero, with mastering by Magnus Lindberg (Cult of Luna, Russian Circles), Wield continues the thematic journey begun on Wrought. While the debut explored creation in the face of personal loss and a crumbling world, Wield examines the application and consequences of that creation; the result is Hiroe’s most refined and immersive sound yet.
